Cherish Being Alone

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FJ1b99cFdnI/UKFrGg4RT9I/AAAAAAAAC6A/J71pwsYBphw/s400/self-reflection.jpg

I don’t like to be alone, but lately I’ve grown to cherish the time I do have with just me and my kids.  I still talk to a couple of people who I have known before motherhood but hanging out with them is not much of an option nowadays.

As I'm getting older, i have lost interest in a lot of the things I used to do like drinking, smoking and partying. Now I'm at the point of my life where i want to surround myself with people who want to grow in life. I want friends who want to do different things like go to jazz clubs, out to eat, the movies, play dates w/ the kids (if they have them) or just other little outings besides the ‘’turn-up” scene.

I want to surround myself with those I can grow with on a mental, spiritual, and emotional level. So we can understand each other, uplift and genuinely support one another without the drama.

I think it’s good we all have these type of people in our lives because we were not meant to be alone on this earth. God didn’t make all these people for us to isolate ourselves and hate one another.
We were meant to build up, encourage and love one another.

I think as women we have to accept the new position in our life when we have kids.  We have to remember our kids are looking up to us. If we can accept ourselves with being alone in a certain season in our life, it becomes a valuable lesson. Not only to us as a mother, but to our children as well.

It’s okay to not have everyone like you or be around people all the time. Even the ones we used to be ‘besties’ with.  There are times where we have to grow and gain the strength to mature alone.

Like it say’s in the bible, we all have a purpose and are uniquely made; one person is not like the other.  That time alone is where we can learn about our self and limit what we want into our lives when we do start to invite others into it.

Mentally it took me awhile to get to this point but daily I'm grateful I am being molded into  the woman God wants me to be.

Lesson Learned!!!
